A crash on Interstate 83 south is partially blocking the John Harris Memorial Bridge over the Susquehanna River, causing miles of backed-up traffic.

Dauphin County 911 dispatchers said the crash involved multiple vehicles. At 3:18 p.m., PennDOT reported the crash near exit 41B for Lemoyne.

It is unclear if anyone was injured as a result of the crash. Multiple fire trucks and emergency vehicles were seen in the area.

Southbound traffic was seen at a standstill as far back as exit 45 for Paxton Street/Bass Pro Drive.

PennDOT expects the crash to be cleared by 5 p.m.
