A three-vehicle crash northeast of Simcoe on Wednesday left one person dead and sent others to hospital.

Police say a cement truck collided with a sedan and a sport utility vehicle at the intersection of Blueline Road and Concession 13 Townsend shortly after 3 p.m.

The driver of the SUV died at the scene, Const. Andrew Gamble said in a video posted to the OPP’s social media around 4:15 p.m.

“The drivers and passenger of the other involved vehicles were transported to hospital with undetermined injuries,” Gamble said.

A school bus driver posting about the crash on Facebook said her vehicle was almost involved as well.

“The kids at the back of my bus saw this happen and told me if we were seconds slower it would have been us,” Sam Hibma said.
