INDIANAPOLIS — A new report from WalletHub indicates that Indiana is one of the U.S. states that has been least-affected by the federal government shutdown that began at the beginning of October.

According to WalletHub, this shutdown is the 11th the U.S. government has faced since 1976. The longest shutdown on record lasted 35 days and spanned from the end of 2018 to the beginning of 2019.

Per WalletHub's report, 900,000 federal workers have been furloughed and 700,000 more are currently working without pay. WalletHub's report indicates that the federal government shutdown could cost the U.S. economy about $400 million per day.
