TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — A joint operation between two different law enforcement agencies led to the interception of almost $15 million worth of cocaine.

On Oct. 5, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) office in West Palm Beach alerted Florida Highway Patrol to information regarding a semi-truck suspected of transporting narcotics from the Mexican-Texas border into South Florida.

According to a release from the governor's office, FHP's Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU) then located the vehicle, which was traveling southbound on the Florida Turnpike, and conducted a traffic stop for inspection.
