Weeks after the West Australian government approved the transfer of Rawlinna Station on the Nullarbor Plain to a UK-based pastoral company, another of Australia's largest sheep stations has been listed for sale without price.

Madura Plains Station is located 700 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie, near the West Australian and South Australian borders and is intersected by the Eyre Highway.

Considered one of the most productive sheep stations in WA, last shearing saw 76,000 head of merinos pass through its gates.

In such a remote location, available water on the property through artesian and groundwater bores has a long history of attracting graziers and highway travellers, and today an extensive 1,400 kilometre pipeline network for stock watering is considered a jewel in its crown.
