Slidell police investigators were on the scene of a shooting near one of the city's parks Wednesday evening.

The Slidell Police Department said in a Facebook post around 5:45 p.m. that officers were at a shooting that occurred near Possum Hollow Park. The park is near the Olde Towne area.

"Please avoid the area while officers work the scene," the post said. "More will be released at a later time."
