BELLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A groundbreaking held Wednesday means a new trail system is almost here.

Eric Larch, co-founder for the Appalachian Outlaw Trails, said the new trails will help bring more money into the area.

“We’re hoping it’s going to be a huge economic driver for the upper end of the valley. But also just a massive boost in tourism for our state,” Larch said.

The trails will be open to different off-roading vehicles. If you don’t own one, there will be some available for rent.

If you don’t want to use a side-by-side or ATV, there will be other ways you can use the trails.

“There is a full single track dirt bike system, there’s going to full-sized vehicles allowed,” Larch said. “We’re going to be a true outdoor recreation destination. So non-motorized access, mountain biking,
