A man has been charged with a string of offences including kidnapping and aggravated burglary following an incident in regional Victoria earlier this month.

Emergency services were called to an alleged altercation between a man and a woman outside a property in Alfredton in Ballarat about 12.30am on October 4.

The pair then left the property on foot.

A 27-year-old woman was later found at the same address shortly after 6am that same day.

She was not physically hurt, police said.

Police then launched a search for the 32-year-old man allegedly involved in the altercation.

An off-duty police officer spotted the man driving a car in Delacombe, south-west Ballarat, about 2.45pm yesterday.

Police swooped on the man in a carpark and he was arrested.
