LANSING, MI – Members of Michigan’s top school board may be moving forward with consideration of a new health education framework for K-12 students despite an array of criticism this week pushing back on the inclusion of sexual health information.

A resolution from board member Nikki Synder at a State Board of Education meeting Tuesday, Oct. 14, asked the body to oppose standards proposed by the Michigan Department of Education earlier this year in favor of backing parental rights to keep discussion about things like gender identity or sexual orientation at home.
