RED LODGE, Mont. – Red Lodge Fire Rescue announced that Chief Tom Kuntz has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Montana State Fire Chief's Association.

Chief Kuntz, a key figure in Montana's fire service since 1992, was nominated by Chief Rich Cowger and Chief Josh Waldo. He began his career in Red Lodge in 1992 as the Assistant Chief of the Red Lodge City Fire Department and became Chief in 1997.

Throughout his tenure, Kuntz has been instrumental in operationally combining the City and Rural Fire District, EMS service and Search and Rescue.

Kuntz has also served as a Montana State Fire Chief's Association board member for nearly 20 years and contributed to developing its current model. He remains active as the MSFCA representative on the State Senior Advisory Committee.
