MASURY, Ohio - Aqua Ohio has announced plans to begin a $1.3 million water main replacement project in Masury.
Work is expected to begin this week and will involve replacing and upsizing existing two-inch and four-inch cast iron, polyvinyl chloride, and galvanized pipes with new four-inch high-density polyethylene pipes and eight-inch ductile iron pipes, which are stronger and more corrosion-resistant.
The new, larger mains will improve transmission capacity and reliability of service.
"These mains have been the source of several leaks in the past and have reached the end of their useful life. Replacing aging mains is part of Aqua's ongoing commitment to invest in the water system to maintain compliance and reliability of service," said Aqua Ohio Area Manager Jennifer Johnson.
