SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The City of Springdale voted in favor of a resolution that will fund the expansion of Arkansas Children's Northwest.
The nearly 50,000-square-foot expansion will include a new shell space for future growth, the addition of 15 inpatient beds, two operating rooms and other improvements with a price tag of almost $83 million.
The approval of this resolution gives the hospital a $42 million bond to help offset that cost.
"It's great that people are able to access their tremendous care here in northwest Arkansas. And so as they continue to expand and as that demand continues to grow, as Northwest Arkansas grows, we'll always be supportive of any expansions," Mayor Doug Sprouse said.
The bond will be paid off by Arkansas Children's Northwest and its partners.
