LUBBOCK, Texas -- For some, a doctor’s visit might feel like a chore, but for other women in Lubbock, it’s a luxury they can’t always afford.

Students from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine are working to change that by hosting a Women’s Health Day clinic from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at The Free Clinic at Lubbock Impact, 2707 34th St.

The clinic will offer free preventive care for uninsured women between the ages of 18 and 64, including Pap smears, breast and pelvic exams, sexually transmitted infection testing, mammogram and colposcopy referrals and other wellness services.

The Free Clinic is run by TTUHSC medical students and doctors who provide no-cost care every Wednesday evening for uninsured Lubbock residents. The Women’s Heal
