BANGOR -- Hundreds gathered to the Cross Insurance Center for the Maine State Chamber of Commerce's annual awards ceremony, where they recognize those with measurable impacts on local economic development across the state.

"There's so much national division and I think this is really a celebration of what unites us, it's really the prosperity, communities thriving, and it's really local chambers that are bringing that connectedness back together," said Patrick Woodcock, President of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce.

Governor Mills addressed the crowds, remarking on the economic improvements she's helped create during her tenure. "We've been making investments in Maine people to create the conditions, the environment for strong economic growth," she stated in her speech.
