ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester Regional Health hosted its annual "remembrance ceremony" Wednesday, honoring those who have gone through any type of pregnancy or infant loss.
Guests were able to create their own memory-makers including bracelets, letters and lanterns. While the ceremony itself was closed off to media, News 8 spoke with a labor and delivery nurse at unity hospital -- who shared her own story of loss.
"So, I've been a nurse here at Unity Hospital since 2009 and I've worked in labor and delivery and in 2016 I found out that my daughter had a life limiting condition and we chose comfort care and so she passed away. And from that moment on I just wanted to help as many people as I could," Courtney Savigney, RN said.
October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
