OMAHA, Neb. —
The Salvation Army's North Corp Community Center in Omaha is halfway through a major renovation project, with phase one completed and already benefiting the community through expanded facilities and services.
The renovations are being completed in two phases. In total the building has tripled in size, now sitting at 42,000 square feet. The center is a vital resource for many residents.
"They come here for food, they come here for heating and cooling. They come here for comfort, many forms of basic needs," said Jeff Beckman, executive director of development.
The original building is now 78 years old, and Beckman said a remodel has been a long time coming.
