Then came the rise of social media, and the beauty industry reinvented itself. Skincare became a ritual; something relaxing, even meditative.
But somewhere along the way, it turned into a race for perfection. The constantly evolving beauty trends have now created a constant pressure to fix, improve, or perfect how we look. This has given rise to beauty anxiety , a very real feeling of unease about not looking good enough.
Jasmine Arora, consultant and clinical psychologist at Artemis Hospitals, Gurugram, tells India Today that the beauty industry is evo
