Residents were evacuated from a Pomona apartment complex after the underside of a second-story walkway collapsed onto the ground below on the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 15.

Just after 7 p.m., firefighters responded to a complex on the 800 block of South Buena Vista Avenue, south of Mission Boulevard, where a collapse was reported at a two-story apartment building, according to Jonathan Torres, public information officer with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Six units of the complex were red-tagged and residents were evacuated, according to freelance news agency Key News Network.

Residents, including children and a dog, gathered in the parking lot as firefighters assessed the damage.

No injuries were reported.
