KNOXVILLE, TN. (WCJB) - The Gator volleyball team pulls off the upset in Knoxville as they beat No. 16 Tennessee in five sets (19-25, 25-23, 25-15, 22-25, 15-13)
This was the Gators (10-6, 5-2 SEC) 4th win this season against a ranked opponent and their 3rd straight conference win.
Gator setter Alexis Stucky recorded her 9th double-double of the season after finishing with 52 assists and 11 digs. Outside hitter Jordyn Byrd led the Gators with 23 kills.
Tennessee’s Hayden Kubik led the Lady Vols’ (13-3, 4-2 SEC) with 24 kills for a .250 hitting percentage.
The Gators will be on the road again to take on another ranked opponent as they visit No. 3 Kentucky on Sunday. The match is set for 3 p.m.
