Dinesh Ammannaya (68), a celebrated Bhagavatha of the Thenkuthittu style of Yakshagana, widely admired for his exceptional voice and known by titles such as "Ganakogile" and "Rasaraga Chakravarthy", passed away on Thursday morning.

A resident of Arasinamakki Hostota Palya in Hattyadka village, Belthangady Taluk, he is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a large fan following. He had been suffering from serious health issues for some time and breathed his last at his daughter’s residence in Kanyady, Belthangady Taluk.

Dinesh Ammannaya was well-known for his emotionally rich performances and had gained immense popularity as a Bhagavatha in various prestigious Thenkuthittu Yakshagana troupes, including Karnataka Mela and Edneer Mela. His soulful renditions
