Motorists over 70 are being urged by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) to carry out a simple online task. The DVLA has issued a reminder to drivers aged 70 and over - and those very nearly 70 - that they may be required to renew their licence. ‌

The service is free of charge and can be done swiftly. In a post on social media platform X, the DVLA stated: "You need to renew your licence when you turn 70. ‌

"Do it online now – it's easy, quick and secure." Motorists can renew their licence on GOV.UK here . ‌

It's also worth noting that once you reach 70, you'll be required to renew your licence every three years instead of every 10 years.
