This was an offseason of dramatic change for Pitt men’s basketball, which turned over two-thirds of its roster before beginning preparations for the 2025-26 season. But as has become customary, much to head coach Jeff Capel’s chagrin, the roster has still been in flux even as the names on the roster get filled out
“Look, we've been down this row before, unfortunately,” Capel said. “That's where we are right now. We're excited about where we are and what's in front of us and look forward to continuing to get better every day.”
The start of competition is bearing down on the Panthers. They’ll host old Big East foe Providence for an exhibition on Sunday afternoon at Petersen Events Center, then welcome Pitt-Johnstown for another tune up before the real thing begins on Nov. 2 against Youngs
