(KTLA) -- Family members of legendary actress Diane Keaton, who passed away Saturday at the age of 79, revealed the Oscar-winning actress died during a battle with pneumonia, according to multiple media reports.
In a statement to People magazine, Keaton’s family said they “are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on Oct. 11.”
The actress’ career spanned more than five decades and was marked by iconic roles in films like “The Godfather,” “Annie Hall,” and “Father of the Bride.”
