New Delhi: Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday chaired a high-level review of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), calling for a major push to speed up rural road construction across the nation.

Minister Chouhan emphasized that roads are key to ending extremism, stating that PMGSY has “transformed the face and future of villages.” While officials reported smooth progress nationwide, special attention was drawn to the Northeast and areas affected by Left-Wing Extremism (LWE).
