SMITHFIELD – The new Doggie Bus cruising around town is for the dogs.
Smithfield resident Leslie DiManna said she realized that not everyone can make it to regular veterinarian visits or grooming appointments during work days. She says there are only so many grooming hours available on Saturday.
So, DiManna said she retired from working as a professor and began Doggie Bus, a ride service for animals. She said she saw a need for a job that would make her happy.
“It’s just me and the animals. It allows people to go about their day,” she said.
The Doggie Bus is a natural career choice for DiManna. She is an animal lover and owns and fosters an large number of animals.
