A Fairfield woman survived a collision with a dump truck Wednesday afternoon in Fairfield.
Alyssa Trainor, 19, was driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse south on Ridge Road about 1:02 p.m. when she failed to field at the intersection with Center Road, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
Shawn Morang, 44 of Sidney tried to avoid hitting Trainor, but his 2014 Peterbilt dump truck struck her Mitsubishi on the passenger side, Fairfield police said Thursday morning.
The collision sent both vehicles into the ditch on the south side of Center Road, hitting a utility pole and bringing down power lines and a traffic signal.
Trainor was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center, where she was treated and released. Morang was not hurt in the crash.
No charges have been filed.
