The Ballad of a Small Player , based on a book, stars Colin Farrell as a drunken gambler : “Struggling to keep up with his fast-rising debts, he is offered a lifeline by the mysterious Dao Ming, a casino employee with secrets of her own.” Reviews seem to be mixed, not so much for the performances but for the movie itself. At least the two leads have been bouncing all over the globe looking foxy. We count that as a win, even if Colin is currently wearing his hair in the style of a man who’s recently been electrocuted.
