MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEVV) — A woman was arrested and charged with meth trafficking in Madisonville on Wednesday morning.

Around 11 a.m. Wednesday, police say they noticed a driver going 51 MPH in a 70 MPH zone and crossing over the fog line.

MPD says officers stopped the vehicle and discovered the driver had a suspended license. They say the passenger, Crystal Ramos of Iowa, was the registered owner of the vehicle.

A K9 was used during the investigation and alerted to the presence of drugs, and Ramos admitted to having a meth pipe in her purse, police said.

Officers say they searched the purse and found the pipe, in addition to a large amount of meth.

According to police, Ramos and the driver were traveling from Iowa to the Days Inn in Madisonville.
