Two Edinburgh males have been caught on a resident's doorbell camera prowling around West End stairwells at night.

The incident took place on Tuesday evening, October 14, on Shandwick place and was caught on camera by a resident within a building.

The footage, shared with Edinburgh Live, shows two men wearing tracksuits making their way up the stairs.

It comes following reports of several stairwells being accessed across the West End. One individual in the clip was allegedly seen trying to a door handle.

The resident said: "These fine people breaking into and sniffing around stairwells in the west end tonight. It happened on Shandwick Place and it's a regular occurrence but it's always different people."
