LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. — The Lenawee County Sheriff's Office is looking for the person accused of stealing construction equipment Wednesday morning in Ogden Township.

According to the sheriff's office, an asphalt company was working at a residence on Crockett Highway near Horton Road and left a gas-powered compact near the worksite.

The sheriff's office said between 9:44 and 9:50 a.m., a male subject pulled into the driveway and went to the front door of the residence. After no one answered, the suspect put the plate compactor into his car and left the area.

The suspect was driving a small white SUV, possibly a Ford Escape, the sheriff's office said.
