TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Officials are warning residents and businesses about a new scam, according to a release by the City.

Police are investigating an incident where a resident who had recently applied for a legitimate city permit received a fraudulent email invoice demanding payment to an “obscure, non-official account,” according to the city.

The resident contacted city officials to verify the invoice, and the city confirmed it was a scam.

City officials said Twin Falls will never email invoices from unofficial or generic email addresses demanding immediate payment to unverified third-party accounts.
