ROSSVILLE, Ind. (WLFI) — The Rossville Consolidated School District received a $150,112 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice's COPS Office as part of the 2025 School Violence Prevention Program.

The funding will enhance security in three key areas: the main gymnasium, auxiliary gymnasium, and lunchroom.

The grant will fund state-of-the-art security doors and intrusion-resistant locks, following the Partner Alliance for Safer Schools' best practices. These upgrades aim to allow rapid lockdowns and prevent unauthorized access during emergencies

The School Violence Prevention Program funds initiatives to improve school security and on-campus safety. The grant supports RCSD's goal of preventing school violence and strengthening the safety of its facilities.
