HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - Firefighters were sent to a home in the 900 block of South Elliot Street to put out a fire on Wednesday night, and some people were displaced.

According to the Evansville Fire Department (EFD), just after 2:20 p.m., EFD was dispatched to the street for a report of smoke and flames coming from a home. Firefighters say first units arrived to find a single-story residence with smoke showing.

EFD says three people were displaced by the fire, and the Red Cross was called to assist them. Officials say there were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported.

Fire officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
