FORT YATES, ND (KXNET) — A man is now in jail in connection with a deadly fire that happened on the Standing Rock reservation this summer.

Maleique Walks was arrested this week and is being charged with arson and two counts of murder within Indian Country. According to a federal filing, Walks is accused of setting fire to a home in Fort Yates on July 24, which killed two people.

An agent also arrested a second man in Fort Yates, charging him with burglary and aiding and abetting. So far, it's unclear if the two cases are related.
