INDIANAPOLIS — A stretch of Capitol Avenue will close near downtown Indianapolis beginning Monday, Oct. 20, for construction of a pedestrian skybridge.
Capitol Avenue will be closed for general traffic between 14th and 16th streets through Jan. 7, 2026.
The skybridge will connect the new IU Health downtown hospital to the new medical office building, IU Health said in a statement.
"The new skybridge will provide a safe, convenient and weather-protected connection between the two facilities, providing access for patients, visitors, and staff," IU Health said.
