WAVERLY, Neb. (KOLN) - The suspected shooter in a Wisconsin homicide was arrested during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Waverly Wednesday morning.
At approximately 7:45 a.m., Nebraska State Patrol received information about a person being sought in connection with a homicide investigation out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
According to NSP, a trooper located the vehicle shortly before 8:30 a.m. as it was traveling westbound between Omaha and Lincoln. Additional troopers responded, and I-80 was shut down for approximately 30 minutes out of concern for public safety as troopers performed a felony traffic stop.
The driver, a man in his 30s, was taken into custody without incident, NSP said. He remains in custody pending extradition in connection with the Milwaukee investigation.
