BROOKS COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) - Officials in South Georgia say they’ve noticed that drivers are not stopping for school buses, creating a dangerous situation for kids.
Operation Obey It or Pay It is a collaboration between Brooks County and several other law enforcement agencies — from Valdosta Police to Georgia State Patrol — to ensure drivers are following state bus laws.
Georgia law requires all drivers on an undivided highway to come to a complete stop for a bus that has flashing lights and extended stop arms. But officers say not everyone follows it.
