WESTWOOD — When chasing a perfect season, sometimes a team has to dig deep when it matters most.
Tri-County did just that Thursday night and relied on its stars to do so. Senior quarterback Declan Walker completed 11-of-17 passes for 215 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while junior Swiss-Army knife Nick O’Brien finished with three total touchdowns as the Cougars (7-0) staged an epic rally to knock off South Shore Voke, 29-16.
“Honestly, I think it was just about weathering the storm,” Walker said. “Broke them down. They might be strong, but we know we’re stronger. We know we can go out there and play four quarters of football, and I think that’s something that not a lot of football teams can do.”
