MINNEAPOLIS — Six years after a 27-year-old National Guardsman from Minneapolis was fatally stabbed in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood, his family and loved ones are pleading for closure. Minneapolis police said the case remains active, but no arrests have been made.
According to police, Abdoulaye Cisse was assaulted on the corner of 7th Street and 5th Avenue Southeast on the morning of October 16, 2019, his 27th birthday. Cisse's family said he was just a couple of blocks away from home, trying to stop someone from breaking into neighbors' cars early that morning.
The Hennepin County medical examiner determined Cisse died from a stab wound to the chest, ruling his death a homicide.
