A hawk is flying again after a remarkable recovery.

In July, rescuers found an injured female hawk on a picnic table at a park in San Jose.

They brought her to the Peninsula Humane Society's Wildlife center, where vets determined she was shot in the head with a BB gun.

They moved her to the group's new care center in Saratoga, where doctors performed surgery to remove the pellet.

After 10 weeks of rehab, the hawk was fully recovered. She was released back into the wild earlier this month.
