A planning appeal for a cocktail bar in a former Broughty Ferry bank is set to go before councillors for review next week.

Proposals to transform the former Royal Bank of Scotland building on Brook Street were refused earlier this year.

The bank shut in November 2023, with RBS blaming a reduction in footfall.

Graham Bradley, who owns Dundee’s Craigie Bar, is behind the plans to transform the vacant building.

However, councillors who sit on Dundee City Council’s local review body will now consider the refusal at a meeting next week.

The application was knocked-back by council planning officers, who determined the proposal did not conform to the city’s local development plan. This is the framework which guides development across Dundee up to 2029.
