It’s that time of year again once yet. The Oscars! Well, of course, as Mennonite we don’t watch movies, except we all know Onkel Oscar who owns a TV behind the barn out back and we sometimes get to sneak around there and watch the game yet. So we asked Onkel Oscar what he thinks are the best movies of the year. Here is his top ten list yet. Just don’t tell Pastor David.
Altona – A romantic comedy about a sax worker and the son of a Russian Mennonite oligarch. A romance blossoms when the Russian Mennonite boy takes sax lessons. This film is NSFW. Not Safe for Wiebes.
The Brutalist – This is a 5-hour long biopic about a famous Mennonite minister. The parishioners call him the “Brutalist” because he’s so strict with the rules about no knacking zoat on Sundays.
