The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed which groups of people will not be receiving the winter fuel payment this winter.

Those living in England and Wales who were born before September 22, 1959 may get financial assistance from the DWP to help them pay bills and keep their homes warm this winter.

A total of nine million pensioners will receive the payment this year after a Government U-turn was announced on June 11. Individuals who are eligible will receive between £100 and £300.

Most will receive the money automatically if they are eligible. However, five groups of over-66s will not receive the financial help , the DWP has since confirmed, The Mirror reports .

You are not eligible for winter fuel payments if you:

Earn more than £35,00
