The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County decreased for the sixth time in seven days, dropping 1.2 cents to $4.581 Friday.

The average price has fallen 3.2 cents over the past seven days, including seven-tenths of a cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

The run of dropping prices began with back-to-back decreases of two-tenths of a cent Saturday and Sunday. It was interrupted Monday by an increase two-tenths of a cent, then resumed Tuesday when the average price dropped eight-tenths of a cent.

The average price is 2 cents less than one month ago but 12.4 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.792 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
