ALLEN PARK — Setting expectations doesn’t mean anything to defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard. All that he expects out of his Detroit Lions players is they meet the team’s standard for performance on the field week in and week out.

So with defensive lineman Alim McNeill set for a return for the first time since his ACL tear last December for the Lions’ Monday night matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, all Sheppard wants from him is to match the high level the defense holds itself to.

“The standard that I expect Alim to come back and play at is a high one,” Sheppard said Friday. “It’s one that he set for himself as a player.
