SHREVEPORT, La. -- Betty Virginia Park is about to glow with thousands of carved and decorated pumpkins as the beloved Pumpkin Shine on Line event returns for another year of fall fun.

The normally calm park at Line Avenue and Ockley Drive is being transformed into a vibrant, pumpkin-filled wonderland — complete with school art displays, glowing gourds, and a flood of families ready to enjoy the crisp weather and creative sights on Tuesday.

Amber Bradley, one of the event’s organizers, said the students’ creativity never fails to impress. She recalls one last year that resembled a Ferris wheel.

“The displays are absolutely incredible,” Bradley said. “I’m always impressed with what the kids come up with, and every year it seems to get bigger and better. We invite all the local schools to
