SHREVEPORT, La. - Mardi Gras is still months away, but the Krewe of Gemini is already deep into preparations for next year's parade, focusing on building and decorating its elaborate floats.

Two artists are currently painting the floats to fit the theme for the upcoming season, "The Greatest Show." The floats are being designed to reflect some of the world's most iconic and spectacular events throughout history.

Planned decorations will depict globally recognized spectacles, including the Olympic Games, the celebration of the Chinese New Year, and ancient roman gladiator games.

The Krewe of Gemini’s annual parade is scheduled to roll on Feb. 14, marking one of the highlights of the Mardi Gras season.
