LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police has decided to cancel its upcoming Halloween in Highview Park event.

Heavy wind and rain is expected. The decision has been made to cancel the Halloween in Highview Park event scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 19.

Due to the complicated logistics of the event, there will be no make-up date.

“We know this is disappointing news for everyone who was looking forward to the event,” reads a post from LMPD. “Over the years, Halloween in Highview Park has become a tradition for many families in our community, and we share in the sadness of not being able to gather this year. Thank you for understanding. There will be other Halloween events we will be sharing.”
