LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A fire that damaged a home on Grassland Park Thursday morning has been ruled accidental, according to Lexington Fire Department Battalion Chief Derek Roberts.

Roberts told ABC36 News Now the fire was unintentional and started outside the back of the house before spreading into the structure. Four people were displaced due to fire and water damage.

Fire crews were called to the Grassland Park address, near Jacobson Park, around 10:32 a.m. Thursday after reports of a house fire. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames visible from the home and upgraded the call to a working fire.
