CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The West Virginia Department of Transportation says an overlay project for the Eugene A. Carter Memorial Bridge on I-64 will cause closures beginning next week.

Starting Monday, October 20, both right lanes will be closed eastbound and westbound on the bridge from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. nightly, WVDOT said.

WVDOT said the closures are to continue concrete patching work.

During the week, ramps to and from Virginia Street and ramps to and from Oakwood Road will be closed and detours put in place, according to WVDOT.

They said eastbound and westbound fast lanes will stay open.

On Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., the right-hand eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed across the bridge, WVDOT said.
